A MOST IMPROPER GENTLEMAN won the 2010 Golden Heart for Regency Historical.
In 2010, it also won:
The Beau Monde Royal Ascot for Regency Historical
The Molly (Historical)
Heart of the Rockies (Historical)
Reveal Your Inner Vixen
It was a finalist in every contest I entered it in, including The Golden Palm, and it was also nominated in the Molly's Unsinkable Heroine Category.

My second book, The Devil May Care, won the 2010 Beau Monde Royal Ascot in the Hot Regency category, and won the Historical category of the 2009 Golden Pen.
In 2010, it was also a finalist in:
The Emily
Great Expectations
Fab Five
Reveal Your Inner Vixen (came in second place behind A Most Improper Gentleman!).

Since I was a Golden Heart finalist for A Most Improper Gentleman (then called Shameless) in 2009 as well, I'm lucky enough to count myself a member both of the uber-talented Unsinkables and of the extraordinary Ruby Slippered Sisters. I'll blog here when I can, but you'll hear more from me at the 2009 finalists' website, rubyslipperedsisterhood.com

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
I'm officially not doing any writing today. Barely even THOUGHT about writing. (Well, okay, I was plotting out a scene for Chapter 4 of my newest book, but that was while driving home from Christmas dinner at my sister-in-law's after all the feasting and gift-giving was done, and my kids were asleep in the back of the car, so I think I can be forgiven.)  A lovely holiday season, starting with the wondrous eclipse on the solstice.  Watched it out back with my kids. Despite days and days of pouring rain and slate gray skies, the clouds parted miraculously just long enough for us to watch it. The stars gleamed; the moon looked like an ember.  Beautiful!

Writing Emotion? Listen to Your Body

I'm blogging over at the Ruby Slippered Sisterhood today on how to use the body to evoke more emotion in your writing.  Stop by and check it out.

Oh, and be sure to check out the Dec 15 post by Jamie Michelle on how to figure out which line of Harlequin is right for your book--Jamie's flow chart is a thing of fiendish beauty!  Almost makes me wish I could tell a good story in less than 75,000 words....

BURSTING WITH PRIDE!!!!!

Those of you who know me know my fabulous CP is also my fabulous little sister Eileen, who kicked my booty to finish my first book and enter it in Golden Heart for 2009.

She's been taking tentative steps for several years now towards finishing a romance novel of her own, and lately she's started sprinting. She took the NaNo plunge this year for the first time, got the finished book to Houston in time for a Golden Heart entry, AND she just learned SHE'S A FINALIST IN THE EMILY, which is the second contest she ever entered.  Check out the Historical finalists at whrwa.com/emily/.

She's had my back in the most incredible way, and I'm so delighted I get to return the favor! WOOOOOT!!!!
